As we’ve worked in the field over the years one of the most unexpected but greatest joys we’ve come to know has been ministering to and caring for orphaned children. Many of them being orphaned because of HIV.

In 2007 God put it in our hearts to build a care center where we could provide a safe, godly environment as well as nutritious meals for some of these children in Malawi. God made the way for us and we were able to build a facility to serve this purpose and by 2009 we had a functioning care center.

From the beginning we’ve funded the care center through our general support and designated
giving but due to recent growth and expansion we are now doing this through individual child sponsorships. We would like to ask if you as an individual, family, business, church or ministry would consider sponsoring one or more of our children. We have thirty children who need sponsors and would like to meet this goal by the end of this month.

Last year Malawi was ranked as the world’s poorest country and the conditions are in fact severe. The children we help are often faced with immoral decisions that a child should never have to face. The following is an excerpt from an article written just two days ago about the current situation…

“Hungry and poor girls and women in Nsanje District are forced to sleep with some exploitative traditional leaders in exchange for humanitarian food.” Nyasa Times / By: Owen Khamula (Read Full Article)

Things have become so desperate that even our own care center was broken into a few nights ago. Our current stock of food for this month was stolen and our guard was beaten. We are grateful that no one else was hurt and that our new generator was not taken but we now need to add an additional guard at night to better protect what has been entrusted to us.

We know that many desperate needs fill the news and Facebook every day. The care center in Malawi is only one of so many but it is a field that God has given to us to watch over and that we will be accountable for. We are so grateful as many of you have helped in different ways over the years to build and care for this work that God has given. We ask that you please continue to pray for this work and to consider sponsoring one or more of the children.

Your individualized support provides the following for each child:

  • Daily meals which include a diet of chicken or fish for protein as well as fresh vegetables grown from our own gardens…
  • Clean, sanitized water…
  • Access to health care…
  • Agricultural training for life skills…
  • Ministry of the Gospel…

Help us demonstrate to these children that God’s love (through His people) reaches even the remotest parts of Africa.

Together we CAN make a difference!
